Here we learned about St. Kevin's 6th century monastery in the Glendalough Visitor Centre We all walked through the site to see its round tower, church ruins and Celtic crosses. Even though it was a dreary drizzling morning, usual around there, the scenery was beautiful.
We then continued to the town of Waterford, home of the renowned handcut
crystal.
(Click here for more about the town of Waterford. Before dinner some of us took a brief walking tour around the historic city center with a local guide. The rain stopped and it was enjoyable to walk around the historic part of the town. When we arrived at our hotel we had a get together with our tour group for a welcome drink before dinner. |
